TAPIS ROUGE EVENTS & COMMUNICATIONS HELPS LEAD INAUGURAL MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. AWARDS TO SUCCESS

Pittsburgh, PA (January 24, 2008) - Tapis Rouge Events & Communications (TRE & Communications), an event management and public relations firm based in Mount Washington, led the design and implementation of the inaugural Martin Luther King, Jr. Leadership and Diversity Awards on January 22, 2008 for the Coro Center for Civic Leadership.  The first ever event was attended by nearly 500 guests, among them many of Pittsburgh’s community and business leaders.

TRE & Communications successfully managed all logistics related to planning the high-profile awards reception.  The event management team paid attention to every detail, from designing all collateral material to ensuring everything stayed within budget.

The firm also secured extensive media exposure for the event as well as for Coro itself.  In the days leading up to the awards reception, president and CEO of Coro Sala Udin made the media rounds and was interviewed by local press, including numerous print and broadcast outlets.  In the end, TRE & Communications successfully placed news articles in all Pittsburgh dailies as well as weekly business and ethnic publications.  In addition, they also obtained three televised interviews for the local affiliates of CBS and NBC.

“I have never worked with a more professional, competent and effective organization than TRE & Communications,” said Sala Udin.  “I was very pleased with their event and public relations work and recommend them highly.”

“Working with Coro on the premier of the Leadership and Diversity Awards was a perfect match for us.  Not only were we able to create a memorable event for our client but we also helped raise Coro’s profile in the community by implementing our public relations capabilities,” said Erika Wirkkala, TRE & Communications founder.
